The Client

Miro is the leading online visual collaboration tool, hosting a plethora of useful features with a solid interface and architecture. Consider me a BIG fan.

Their Distributed conference brings together the Miro community at an annual event to share and explore all the latest features, wonderful workshops, and inter-community conversations.

The Brief

The Distributed team wanted a personal board for each attendee that offered space to:

- capture the main details and links for each session
- define learning goals
- take notes per session, and add stickers to decorate their space
- an area to capture screenshots from the event

Creative Direction
Christina Ta, Associate Creative Director at Miro, provided clear guidance around the '22 theme vision of 'Make space for human'. You can read more about the creative brief in the Distributed Visual Event Programme.

The Result

A series of high value activities to get the most out of your time at Distributed '22, all housed in a style consistent with the main theme, without distracting from the main content and objectives.

Session Cards

Separate cards for each session sit in a sidebar, and can be dragged onto a note page for whichever workshops were attended. This means all ~50 sessions details were included, but didn't need to take up space with complete notepages. Plus it adds an interactive element that encourages the user to start using their space.

Learning Goal

I added a frame to define learning goals, plus two more columns to help track and summarise how those goals worked out. This format encourages step by step progress.

Notes

7 ready-to-run templates are already laid out, with a blank template available if you need to add more. The pages were segmented into the 4 top categories of information that would be added.
